Fellow Photographers: The Lights I Use

Hey yall.
Have you ever walked into a studio and realized you would have to lift the shadows a ton in post? Or bumped your ISO so high that you worried about grain?
I felt the same way last year. I wanted soft, even light without dragging around a huge beauty dish or an 8 foot umbrella diffuser. I kept thinking there had to be a better option.
Enter the lantern diffuser.
I paired it with a battery powered flash that has fully adjustable power.
I point the lantern at the ceiling in most studios. It lifts the light across the entire space. No moving the light around. No adjusting strength every few minutes. My post editing self is very happy.
I also use it outdoors. I photographed a medium sized school in the middle of the day with strong overhead shadows. I kept the light at a low power and it worked great for clean faces and softer shadows.

ALL THE LINKS YOU NEED: (associate link - just a tiny commission goes to me if you use this link!) Lantern Diffuser
Stand - but any stand will work really.
Mount - works with the light and the diffuser (called bowens mount)
Light - a little power house!!!! Battery Powered
Pocket wizards - transmitters - yes these are more expensive but I like these better and returned the other godox ones I returned.
8 Foot Modifier for use in outdoor set ups like the photo above
Modifier stands - they have to be heavy duty!
I have had several photographers ask about it after seeing a few behind the scenes clips, so here it is.
Happy shooting!!
